Jordan Program 6 Nights 7 Days

Classic Cultural Jordan

Day 1: Amman (D) 40 KM

Arrival to Amman, capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Meet and assist, visa formalities and proceed with transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Amman City Tour – Jerash – Ajloun – Amman (B, D) 175 KM

Breakfast at the hotel. Panoramic tour of the city, known anciently as Philadelphia: visit the city center, downtown with its Roman Theater, Citadel, traditional markets (souqs), churches, and mosques like King Abdullah Blue Mosque next to the Parliament. Then head to the new modern city with its residential neighborhood. Departure to Jerash, one of the most complete and best-preserved cities of the Roman Empire. A walk through its streets, theaters, temples and other places like the Great Colonnade Street, Arc of Triumph, the Oval Plaza, and the Temples of Zeus and Artemis. Continue to AjlounCastle, a fortress built in 1185 A.C. This castle was later rebuilt in the 13th century by the Mamluks after its destruction by the Mongols. It is a castle of the Ayoubi’s, located on top of the mountain, from which you can admire a beautiful view of the Jordan Valley, return to Amman. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Amman – Desert Castles – Dead Sea – Bethany - Amman (B, D) 355 KM

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Islamic Castles of the Desert – UNESCO Heritage, built between the 7th and 8th centuries. Visit Amra Castle, former summer palace containing unique Islamic frescoes; Al - Kharanah Castle, old Roman fort; and visit the Roman fort of Azraq, built in black volcanic stone. Descend to the lowest place on earth and the world’s first natural spa, the Dead Sea and the desert of Moab. Free time to swim in its therapeutic waters, an unforgettable experience to enjoy the facilities of private beach and pool area! Visit Bethany, the place where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist and is located on the east bank of the Jordan River. Bethany was declared by the Vatican during the visit of Pope John Paul II in 2000 as a pilgrimage area. Return to Amman. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Amman - Madaba – Mount Nebo – Karak o Shobak – Petra (B, D) 360 KM

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Madaba the "City of Mosaics", visit the map of the Holy Land made in 571 A.D. at the Saint George Church. Continue to Mount Nebo, known as the tomb of Moses, with a magnificent view of the Jordan Valley to visit its Franciscan Church. Then proceed to Karak through the Kings’ Highway, visit its fortress built between 1110 and 1143 A.C. by the Templers during the Crusades, which was then taken by Saladin. Departure to Petra. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.



Day 5: Petra (B, D) Hotels 5 – 10 KM

Breakfast at the hotel. Classic full day visit of the Nabatean red rose city of Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, carved out of rock over 2000 years ago. We will access the city through its entrance, narrow gorge (Siq) of 1.2 kilometers from there we continue to reach the impressive monumental Treasury (El Khazneh) which was believed to hold countless treasures. The first view of the “Khazneh” is breath-taking. Other monuments we can see are the Theatre, the Byzantine Church, and the Royal Tombs. Climbing up to the Monastery or the Altar of Sacrifice is optional and on clients’ behalf. Free time and visit Petra Museum, if there is time. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Petra – Wadi Rum – Aqaba – Amman (B, D) 550 KM

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the desert of WadiRum, one of the scenes from the film Lawrenceof Arabia, The Martian by Matt Damon, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker; one of the most spectacular settings in the Middle East. This is red desert sand on which granite mountains rise and peaks of red and gold colors penetrate the scenery. Classic tour by 4x4 local jeeps of approximately 2hours (Optional additional hours apply by request). Transfer to Aqaba, Jordan’s only exit to the Red Sea with free time in the city and/or beach. (Entrance to the beach is usually not included, beaches are private, there is only one public beach north with basic services). Drive to Amman. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Amman -Bethany - Madaba – Monte Nebo ––Makawir panoramic if time permits - Petra (345 KM)

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of Bethany, place where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist and is located on the east bank of the Jordan River. Bethany was declared by the Vatican during the visit of Pope John Paul II in 2000 as a pilgrimage area. Departure to Madaba the "City of Mosaics", visit the map of the Holy Land made in 571 A.D. at the Saint George Church. Continue to Mount Nebo, known as the tomb of Moses, with a magnificent view of the Jordan Valley and visit its Franciscan Church. Departure to Petra and on the way a panoramic visit of Makawir Palace, the memorial where Herod beheaded John the Baptist. Arrival to Petra. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Petra – Dead Sea (Hotels 245 KM)

    Day 2: Amman (Visit of the Citadel, Roman Theater and King Abdullah Mosque): Rainbow Street – The Boulevard - Al – Weibdeh- The Seven Sleepers known as Al-Rakim Cave 70 KM

    After breakfast at the hotel; begin your tour by visiting the Citadel and the Roman Theater, continue to visit King Abdullah Mosque next to the Parliament; it is one of the most famous and most recognizable structures in Amman. It was built as a memorial for the late King Abdullah I. The Blue Mosque, as it is popularly known is an elite example of Islamic architecture. Visit Amman’s downtown with its ancient markets and souqs. Then proceed for a walking tour in Rainbow Street in Jabal Amman 1st Circle. When Amman was a small town, this gentle neighborhood was the preserve of the elite. The streets are lined with many fine old villas dating from the 1920s and 1930s. Continue to the Boulevard, the new downtown walking area with its modern shops and Al Abdali Mall. Proceed to Al - Weibdeh old neighborhood for a walking tour to visit the main highlights and several local Arab art galleries (optional, entrance fees not included): Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, Makan Arts Space, Darat Al Funun, and Dar El Anda. Continue to the National Museum Park and the Paris Circle. A short drive to the east of Amman, where “Al-Rakim Cave” is located and where the Seven Sleepers stories took place. It is a story of a group of youths who hide inside a cave outside the city of Ephesus around 250 A.D. to escape a religious persecution and emerge 300 years later. The cave was a part of a Byzantine grave yard. The entrance to the cemetery leads to a central hall branching out to three shrines with vaulted arch ceilings. There are seven stone grave yards more in the eastern and western “Alkutin” front door decorated with engineering and plant ornaments. Back to Amman hotel for dinner and overnight.


    Day 3: Amman - Wadi Rum – Petra Hotel 520 KM

    Start your day with breakfast at your hotel, travel to the spectacular desert wilderness of Wadi Rum. Sometimes known as the Valley of the Moon for its lunar-like landscapes, this protected region of mountains, dunes, and canyons was where T.E. Lawrence, known as Lawrence of Arabia fought alongside the Bedouin locals in World War I. The locals have named many of the sites in Wadi Rum after Lawrence and numerous scenes from the iconic movie, Lawrence of Arabia, were filmed on location here. Besides, the recent well-known movies Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and The Martian, were also filmed by Hollywood super star Matt Damon. Enjoy an exhilarating 2-hour trip by 4x4 local jeep through this majestic place to immerse yourself in its serene beauty and ever-changing colors. Rumble along desert valleys, through narrow gorges and past red dunes and mountains; stop to take photos along the way. Finish your day by relaxing on your journey to Petra. Check into your hotel.     Day 4: Petra – Karak Shrines - Amman 295 KM

    After breakfast, to visit the Nabatean Red Rose City of Petra, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. A city carved in stone more than 2000 years ago to dominate the trade routes of ancient Arabia. First, you will walk the “Siq”, a narrow path of 1.2 kilometers, which is the main entrance to the city. At the end of the “Siq”, you will see the treasury "El - Khazneh" - which was believed to hold countless treasures. The first view of the "Khazneh" is breath-taking. Other monuments you will visit are the Theatre, the Byzantine Church, and the Royal Tombs. Free time to walk up the Monastery or the Altar of Sacrifice on your own for a breath-taking scenery. Free time and visit Petra Museum, if there is time. Drive Drive back to Amman and on the way visit the Islamic shrines of Prophet Noah, Zaid ibn Ali ibn Al-Hussein, Dawud, and tombs of Jaafar bin Abi Taleb known as Jaafar el Tayyer Zaid bin Haritha, and Abdullah bin Rawahah for an engaging spiritual experience. Back to Amman hotel for dinner and overnight.



    Day 5: Amman – Jordan Valley – Dead Sea -Allenby Bridge- Jerusalem Hotel 325 KM

    Pick up from your hotel in Amman, drive to Wadi Shuayb, near Salt, to the Shrine of Prophet Shuayb. From here we head to the Jordan Valley, to the tomb of Abu Ubaida Amer bin Al-Jarrah, a relative of Prophet Mohammad, commander of the Northern Muslim Army, and one of the Blessed Ten, to whom Mohammad promised paradise. We visit moreover the tomb of Moath bin Jabal, who compiled the Holy Quran during the life of Prophet Mohammad, and the tomb of DirarBin AlAzwar. travel onward to the Dead Sea; the first natural spa and the lowest point on earth, sitting at 1,412 feet (430 meters) below sea level. This glittering inland sea contains extraordinarily high levels of salt and minerals, and offers up an incredible experience: the chance to float rather than swim! Arrive at the Dead Sea, wade in to experience a short floating session from the beach: it’s an unforgettable sensation. Free time at leisure to enjoy the facilities: Pool and beach for swimming. Then transfer to the border, you will arrive at Allenby Bridge for immigration procedure to the other side. Transfer to the hotel in Jerusalem, free time at leisure.     Day 6: Classic Ancient Jerusalem – Allenby – Amman Hotel 125 KM

    After breakfast, start the classic tour visit with a drive to the top of Mount of Olives believed Jesus ascended to heaven. You will enjoy a magnificent view of ancient and modern Jerusalem, the center of the biblical world. Proceed with a walk down the Palm Sunday Road visiting the Chapel of Dominus Flevit, where Jesus wept. Continue with a walking tour of the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations, where Christ prayed on the night of his betrayal. Then, head to the old city of Jerusalem and visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the tomb of Jesus Christ. Proceed to visit the last standing remnant of the ancient Temple at the Western Wailing Wall, also visit the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Dome of the Rock.     Day 3: Amman - Umm arRasas - Madaba – Mount Nebo – Mosiac Workshop - Amman (B, D) 225 KM

    Breakfast. Depart your Amman hotel and make the scenic journey south toward Umm ar-Rasas. After roughly 2 hours, step outside to walk around what is one of Jordan’s most important archaeological sites. A UNESCO World Heritage site since 2004, Umm ar-Rasas features well-preserved Roman, Byzantine, and early Muslim ruins dating from the 3rd to the 9th centuries. Highlights include several Byzantine churches, notable for their still-vivid and hugely artistic floor mosaics. After admiring the mosaics that depict everything from agriculture and hunting to cities like Jerusalem and Caesarea, move on to Madaba, a town famous for its early medieval mosaics. Best known among them is the 6th-century Mosaic Map, housed in Saint George’s Church. On arrival, meet a local guide, and tour Saint George’s, seeing its stunning mosaic — a depiction of the Holy Land and Jordan. Admire the detailed renderings of Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, and Jericho, noting the references to biblical locations. Next, visit Madaba’s Archeological Park, home to remnants of Byzantine churches and a 6th-century villa. Inspect the antiquities here, lingering at the beautiful villa mosaic that portrays the four seasons and Greek gods. Continue to Mount Nebo, a mountain ridge where Moses is said to have seen the Holy Land before dying. Admire the views over the Jordan Valley, and on a clear day, to the Holy Land. Then, enter Mount Nebo church to see its fascinating historical mosaics picturing different figures. Absorb the intricate artworks showing soldiers, hunting, and animals, hear about their history and discovery. Lastly, visit a local mosaic workshop where mosaics are still made using centuries-old techniques. Watch as artisans’ piece together complex motifs from pieces of ceramics, glass, or stone, creating incredibly intricate images. Return to Amman hotel, dinner and overnight.

    Day 4: Amman - Umm el Jimal – Desert Castles – Amman (B, D) 290 KM

    Depart your Amman hotel after breakfast, in roughly 2 hours, step outside to walk around what is one of Jordan’s important, yet not much visited archaeological sites. It is primarily notable for the substantial ruins of a Byzantine and early Islamic town which are clearly visible above the ground, as well as an older Roman village located to the southwest of the Byzantine ruins. After admiring these unique ruins, move on towards the fascinating Desert Castles. The region is speckled with 7th and 8th century castles, many within a 15-minute drive of each other, that were originally built by the Caliphs of the Umayyad dynasty as rural retreats and hunting lodges. Hear tales about this powerful dynasty, the first Muslim rulers of the Arab kingdom, including fascinating snippets about their extravagance and debauchery. As you travel, feel free to tell your driver if there’s a castle you want to see more of or another castle you’d like to visit, at your own expense. Your tour is private, so the itinerary can be tailored to suit your interests. Pull up at UNESCO-listed “Quseir’ Amra”, one of east Jordan’s most famous castles. Once a hunting palace of the Umayyads, this splendidly restored edifice is graced with 8th-century fresco showing decadent scenes of nude women, wine, and parties. Continue to “Qasr Al -Kharanah”, an imperious 2-level fortress standing in a huge plain. Thought to have been built on Roman foundations, this evocative castle exudes intrigue and displays a rich array of Mesopotamian, Arabic, and Greek architectural influences. Finally, head for “Qasr Al-Azraq”, originally an Umayyad hunting retreat and once used as a headquarters by T.E. Lawrence, the 20th-century British soldier and Arab Revolt leader perhaps more famously known as Lawrence of Arabia. Wander around the sun-burnished courtyards, towers, and mosque. Learn how Lawrence based his operations here during 1917 to 1918. After exploring here, return to Amman hotel. Dinner and overnight.


    Day 5: Amman - Jerash - Pass by Wadi Moujib - Petra Kitchen - Petra Hotel (B, D) 350 KM

    After breakfast, Departure to Jerash, one of the most complete and best preserved of the Roman Empire. A walk-through time visiting its streets, theaters, temples and other places like the Great Colonnade, the Arc of Triumph, the Oval Plaza, as well as the Temples of Zeus and Artemis. Proceed to Petra via the valley Wadi Moujib for a scenery view of this huge natural gorge. Arrive Petra. Dinner at Petra Kitchen with Live Cooking to learn some local dishes and learn of the Arabic spices and traditions. Overnight at Petra Hotel.





    Day 6: Petra - Wadi Rum Camp (B, D) 160 KM

    Day 7: Wadi Rum (Visit) – Meet the Bedouins – Optional Camel Ride - Madaba (Visit) - Mount Nebo (Visit) - Dead Sea (B, D) 400 KM

    After breakfast, visit of Wadi Rum, called the valley of moon where the movie Lawrence of Arabia, The Martian and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker were filmed, for a classic 2 hours visit of Wadi Rum in a 4x4 local jeeps. Wadi Rum is a uniquely shaped massive mountain that rose amongst the rosy red sand of the desert with towering cliffs of various brownish, reddish, and golden colors.     Day 3: Ajloun - Wadi Mujib - Wadi Feynan (345 KM)

    Breakfast. Free time in Ajloun Forest Reserve for optional hikes. Proceed to Wadi Mujib, free time to hike the “siq trail”, a self-guided trail. Continue towards Wadi Feynan, a rugged red granite canyon, the "Wadi", which widens out in the pink dunes of the Jordan Valley. Your vehicle awaits you, to drive to the reserve. Vegetarian Dinner and accommodation at the Wadi Feynan Lodge winning award Eco lodge and one of the top 25 eco hotels in the world with a wonderful landscape and a candlelit night experience. Activities included such as copper mine hike, sunset hike, and star gazing from the roof top of the lodge. Calendar activities subject to change based on the weather conditions.




    Day 4: Wadi Feynan - Dana (75 KM)

    Breakfast. Morning hike and then continuation to the nature reserve of Dana, a beautiful natural space that has a rich variety of Rocky Mountains with their white and pink sandstone cliffs. The reserve encompasses some of the most impressive landscapes in Jordan, stretching from 1800 meters high. Optional hikes available on request. Dinner and accommodation in Dana's reserve.

    Day 5: Dana - Petra - Little Petra (105 KM)

    Breakfast and transfer to Petra. Classic full day visit to the Nabatean city of Petra and one of the Indiana Jones movie settings. Petra one of the seven wonders of the world, carved out of pink rock more than 2000 years ago. We will access to the entrance of the gorge (Siq). From there we will continue to reach the impressive monumental complex of the Treasury (El Khazneh). Visit the theater, the royal tombs, the Byzantine Church, and the columns street. (Optional climb to the Monastery or the Altar of Sacrifice on behalf of the clients, without a guide). Free time and visit Petra Museum, if there is time.     Day 6: Petra - Wadi Rum, Meet the Local Bedouins - Optional Camel Ride (150 KM)

    Day 6: Petra - Wadi Rum, Meet the Local Bedouins - Optional Camel Ride (150 KM) Breakfast. Departure to the Wadi Rum Desert, one of the settings from the films Lawrence of Arabia, The Martianby Matt Damon, as well as the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and one of the most spectacular settings in the Middle East. It is a desert of red sand, on which granite mountains and peaks of golden and reddish colors rise, as well as different drawings excavated in red stone. Classic tour, in a 4x4 vehicle through the imposing landscapes of approximately 2 hours. Visit the local Bedouins for a cup of Arabic tea, as well as free time for a camel ride on client’s own expense. Bedouin Dinner and overnight at the camp.



    Day 7: Wadi Rum - Aqaba (90 KM)

    Breakfast. Optional desert hikes and trekking if interested. Departure to Aqaba for a panoramic tour of the city. Free time to enjoy Aqaba beach and hotel facilities: swimming pool and more. Aqua activities like snorkeling on your own personal expense. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.






    Day 8: Aqaba – Dead Sea (295 KM)

    Breakfast. Descent to the lowest place on earth and the desert of Moab, the Dead Sea, the world’s first natural spa. Free time to take a bath in its therapeutic saline waters, an unforgettable experience and to enjoy the hotel facilities: beach and pool. Use of the Spa on client’s own expense. Dinner and accommodation. • Extra nights in Dead Sea or Amman can be tailor made by request to add visits of the Desert Castles UNESCO Heritage and Shaumari for 4 x 4 sunset jeep tour with Azraq Wet Land Reserve for overnight at the Old British Hospital, as well as spend more time in Amman with optional visits of Madaba mosaic city and Mount Nebo for an exceptional view of the Holy Land and Jordan Valley.



    Day 9: Dead Sea - Amman Queen Alia Airport (55 KM)

    Day 1: Amman Queen Alia International Airport (40 KM)

    Arrival in Amman, the capital of Jordan. Visa procedures and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.



    Day 2: Amman City Tour - Jerash - Ajloun – Ma’in Hotsprings (225 KM)

    Breakfast at the hotel. Panoramic tour of the city, known anciently as Philadelphia: visit of the city center, downtown with its Roman Theater, Citadel, traditional markets (souqs), churches, and mosques like King Abdullah Blue Mosque next to the Parliament. Then head to the new modern city with its residential neighborhood. Departure to Jerash, one of the most complete and best-preserved Greco-Roman cities of the Roman Empire. A journey through time to visit its streets, theaters, temples, and squares, among where the great colonnade, the triumphal arch, the oval square, and the temples of Zeus and Artemis stand out. Continue to Ajloun Castle, a fortress built in 1185 A.C. This castle was rebuilt later in the 13th century, by the Mamluks after its destruction by the Mongols. It is a castle from the time of the Ayoubi’s, located at the top of the mountain and from which a beautiful view is contemplated. Departure for the Ma’in Falls. Free time to enjoy the hotel facilities: waterfalls and swimming pool. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Ma’in Hotsprings.

    Day 3: Ma’in Hotsprings - Madaba - Mount Nebo – Karak or Shobak - Petra (295 KM)

    Breakfast at the hotel. Free time to enjoy the hot springs of Ma’in Falls and the hotel facilities. Departure to Madaba the "City of Mosaics" where you will visit the church of Saint George that houses the map of the Holy Land made in 571 A.D. Continuation to Mount Nebo, known as the tomb of Moses and from whose top you can see a magnificent panoramic view of the Jordan valley with a visit to its Franciscan Church. Departure by road to the Crusades Castles of Karak or Shobak for a short visit. Arrival in Petra. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
