Be a Farmer for a Day in Jerash

Jerash is an amazing blend of Greco-Roman and Oriental influences. A great place to visit with its beautiful rolling hills and lush greenery, Jerash has a rhythm not seen anywhere else in Jordan. Also, every year Jerash hosts the Jerash Festival of Culture and Arts, a three week summer program filled with folk dance, music, and theatrical performances.

What you’re going to do

Activities:

Please arrive at 10AM for the briefing. The activities start at 10:30 in the following order:

1. Traditional tomatoes pastry making with a farmer at her garden overlooking the agricultural valley. Enjoy the freshly baked pastry in the Arabic oven with tea.

2. Experience making your own pottery with another farmer in front of her heritage home that overlooks the villages and agricultural valley. Have a traditional meal in front of the heritage home with firewood tea with local made sweet baked in front of you.

3. A pleasant walk in Dibeen forest to learn about the Aleppo pine trees, strawberry tree, baby pine trees, Dibeen forest caves and the wild life present there.

4. Milking a cow and learn about different kinds of doves, black chicken and pegions.

Please bring your hats, sunglasses, sun block, walking shoes, and your personal medication incase of allergies.

Note: Customers may wish to have an English-speaking guide present for an extra charge of 50JDs.
